well by definition for something to be "Art" it needs "Consciousness" "Skill" and "Creative Imagination" with those in hand and invested ito a single piece we can easily make "Art" It can be food, ceramics, photography, anime, soap, even a scribble on your note book that turns out to be better than you expected.
No one can honestly sit there and say "well that definition is wrong" because if you look online it will tell you that "Art (noun) - the conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects"
So anything; no matter how you look at; it can be art.
But yes if you said that outloud you'd probably bed mobbed down by crazy fangirls and boys and possibly gang raped with a hot fire poker.
Still when ever i see that in a stamp "Anime isn't Art" i get a bit peeved becuase by definition we can all create art. Just because they don't like that particular style, doesn't mean they have to go to such an extream like that. It's not their place to judge what is and isn't art. Art is for everyone, and anyone who pursues it actively. So those monkeys can kiss my sorry ass XD

Anime is indeed art ^^
I beleive anything you can creat is art, and I'm also tired of people putting different forms of it down.

There was(maybe still is) a teacher at teh university here, that beleive anime is not art, and will fail you if your art looks lik eit o0 they want everything to look like disney.
I hope they where fired.
An art teacher, or teacher of any kind, shouldnt hold a personnall opinion like that in their professional life.
